The story of HESTRA begins with Martin Magnusson, who first made durable gloves for lumberjacks in 1936 in the small village of Hestra in southern Sweden. Just one year later, a ski slope was built nearby, bringing many winter sports enthusiasts to Hestra. For all these tourists with cold hands, Magnusson began making ski gloves. In the following years, with the growth in popularity of skiing, the demand for his gloves also increased, now under the name HESTRA gloves.
